At The Other Side Lawn & Ornamental Pest Control Inc., we take pride in delivering exceptional service, and that includes ensuring all your pest-related questions are answered. Below, you’ll find our responses to common questions about our team, services, pests common to the area, and more. You can also contact our office directly if the information you need is not listed here.
What are your standard hours of operation?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
How experienced is your team?
We are led by a U.S Marine Corps veteran with over 20 years of hands-on experience in the pest control industry. Our team consists of experienced technicians who bring decades of combined experience to every job we are a part of.
Do you hold industry licenses?
Yes, we maintain specific state licensure in Lawn & Ornamental Pest Control, General Household Pest Control, and Termite Control.
Do you offer complimentary estimates?
Yes – offering fair, honest pricing is a core tenet of our business, and we provide all new customers with free quotes that allow us to assess your unique situation and provide an accurate price for the services you need.
Do you also provide services for commercial properties?
Yes, we are proud to work with residential and commercial customers and will tailor our pest control services to meet your specific property’s needs.
Are your pest control treatments safe to use around pets or family?
Your household’s safety is our top priority. We use treatments and solutions that are as safe as they are effective, delivered through careful application. Our team focuses on treating pests at the source while keeping your environment safe for your loved ones and pets. We’re happy to explain options specific to your situation so that you have all the information about potential pest solutions.
Do you treat the common Florida pests?
Yes, we handle all the “usual suspects” here in Florida, including mosquitoes, ants, cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, and earwigs. We also provide specialized treatments for pests such as rodents or stinging insects.
How long will it take to start seeing results after a pest control treatment?
That will depend on the pest. For active infestations that we directly hit with a treatment, the results will be near immediate. For colony-based pests like ants, we use professional-grade baits that may take several days to spread through the colony and deliver a permanent solution. We’ll discuss how long you can expect to wait to see results after the specific treatment is complete.
Will I need to leave my house if you are doing an indoor treatment?
For most treatments, no. We offer solutions that are low-odor and extremely targeted, so it’s unlikely that you will need to leave your property. However, if a specific situation requires a more intensive application, our technician will provide clear instructions well in advance to ensure your safety.
How often do you recommend scheduling treatments?
That will depend on the pests you are concerned about. Our warm, humid climate means that pests are active all year, so we generally recommend getting on a regular maintenance plan to help prevent infestations rather than waiting for them to appear and then retroactively trying to eliminate them.
Do you provide mosquito control services?
Yes, we specialize in mosquito prevention and offer spraying services as well as innovative mosquito dunks from In2Care® that interrupt the life cycle and allow you to enjoy your outdoor spaces without worrying about fighting off those pesky little invaders all the time.
What treatments are included in your lawn spraying services?
Our lawn program offers comprehensive care for fertilization, weed control, and targeted pest treatments for lawn-destroying insects like sob webworms and chinch bugs. We also offer solutions for fungal issues and common weeds that can take over a lawn.
My lawn has turned brown and patchy – can you help?
Brown spots on your lawn can be caused by a wide range of issues, from pests to poor soil to fungal infections to moisture issues. Our team can do a soil analysis and an inspection to identify the core problem, and then we’ll create a customized plan to help your lawn recover from what’s damaging it.
How long do I need to stay off the lawn after a spray treatment?
As a general guide, we recommend staying off the lawn for a few hours until it is completely dry. In Florida, that generally takes 2–6 hours, depending on the sun and humidity levels.
Do you provide wood destroying organism (WDO) inspections?
Yes, we offer WDO inspections for customers buying or selling a home in the Lakeland area. We are licensed to provide WDO inspections and provide the report required for real estate closings.
Can you provide rodent control services?
Absolutely – we offer rodent exclusion and removal services to help seal off your home and get rid of any current “guests” who may be hiding inside.
Is your work backed by any kind of guarantee?
We are deeply committed to your satisfaction, so if you’re ever unhappy with a service, just give us a call, and we will do all we can to make things right.
